M. J. Ashitsa

I'm M. J. Ashitsa. For a long time, I wanted to see my artwork on physical things — it started with bandanas and scarves. I paint to quiet my mind. Watching a sketch repeat into a seamless pattern feels like one step closer to my art existing outside the sketchbook — out in the world, on something tangible. But it's not really about the object. It's the quiet part before it: the stylus gliding across the screen, a brush moving across a watercolour sheet, getting lost in it, not fussing about where it ends up. That's the part I keep coming back to, the quiet, almost sacred moment of making something. If what comes out of it delights someone when they wear it, that's a bonus.
